DESCRIPTION OF TERMINOLOGY

Lot Survey
  The boundaries are established and all property corners are marked on the ground and easily visible. A plat drawing is prepared (unless otherwise specified) that shows the boundaries, setbacks, easements of record, etc.

Clearing Stake
The area of trees that are to REMAIN on the property are ribboned or encompassed. This is done for the benefit of the dozer operator so he can clearly identify his clearing area. Even after his clearing is done it is apparent of the area that was marked to REMAIN. Apollo makes every effort to preserve any tree or area of vegetation that may enhance the appearance of the property.

Form Survey
Once your form setter has completing the form layout, it is strongly recommended (sometimes required by the financing institution) that a form survey be prepared. This drawing will show the form (proposed slab) as it lies on the property. It will verify that it is within the setbacks and does not encroach any easements.

Slab Survey
This survey and drawing is essentially the same as the form survey and is typically required by your lending institution.

House (Building) Stake
We can stake out on the ground the "envelope" of your structure. This is strongly recommended to avoid encroachments, etc. Often times an elevation is needed for finished floor result. We can set a Bench Mark on site for your form setter.

Property Survey/Final Survey/Residential Title Survey
This survey will show the final completion of the premises including fences, pools, driveway, patio and any other surface improvement to the property.

Elevation Certificate
An elevation certificate requires us to "carry" an elevation from a FEMA or  HCFCD  (Harris County Flood Control District) bench mark (a monument stamped with the elevation) to obtain the actual ground and finished floor elevation of your property at mean sea level. This information can then be compared to the base flood elevation in that area.

Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS)
Required by the State of Texas Board of Land Surveyors by a business if practicing land surveying in the state of Texas.
